Graduated: Business Management BCIT

I am a recent graduate of the Business Management diploma program at BCIT who is passionate about anything related to economic empowerment and social impact with a focus on entrepreneurship, education, and youth! If I am not in class, you can find me volunteering for organizations such as GradusOne, or watching TED Talks on YouTube!

What excites you about entrepreneurship?  Entrepreneurship can be based off of a simple idea to fix a problem in our day-to-day life. There is a wide range of areas where you can start your business in, whether it be in technology, science, or environmental. It can be built off of a passion or interest in your life so every move you make affects the business immensely.

If you could start any business in the world with nothing standing in your way, what would it be? As a firm believer in providing education to all kids no matter what age, I would spread the idea of Startup Skool to third world countries to tackle the world’s biggest issues such as unemployment, poverty, and food insecurity. Inspired by Enactus teams like Ryerson University and University of Ottawa from across Canada, I would partner with the United Nations and Enactus teams around the world to put this on the map and use it as a platform to provide education to kids all around the world.

What attracted you to working with Startup Skool? I cofounded a youth empowerment project at Enactus BCIT in August 2015 built upon the basis of bridging the gap between high school graduation and life skill readiness. This project teaches youth about financial literacy, career options, job skills, and business etiquette skills that are useful throughout life. Kids are so creative and are usually limited by the lack of resources or help, so Startup Skool really provides the knowledge, tools and resources to help incubate their creativity and turn their crazy ideas into workable businesses.

Give us a fun fact about yourself! I have a twin brother and we have a YouTube channel where we post Korean-pop dance cover videos with over 36,000 subscribers!
